The BMW Concept i8 Spyder, according to BMW, is the next step towards mass production of the BMW i8, sustainable sports car that also should look attractive. BMW i is a sub-brand of BMW with an emphasis on sustainability. The i8 Concept Spyder is a hybrid. It is equipped with a 96 kW electric motor and a 1.5-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder engine generates 223 hp and 300 Nm. The combined maximum power is 354 hp.
To keep the vehicle as light as possible, large parts are made of aluminum and carbon fibers. Due to this it has a top speed of 250 km / h in five seconds and shoots from zero to 100 km / h. Yet it would average only three liters of fuel per 100 kilometers consume. And it can drive 30 kilometers purely electrical.
